Over the weekend, I watched a film at the Picturehouse. It has been some time since I did that.
The film is a Taiwanese one named <<第36個故事>> Taipei Exchange. For those of you who don’t read Chinese, those Chinese characters mean “the 36th story”.
The first full-length feature film by director Hsiao Ya-chuan, this is a light, frothy story that is playful but not frivolous. It is about dreams, barter trade and valuation of the intangible. Oh, it is also about courage, which is nice.
I believe it will still be screening this coming long weekend (whee), so catch it if you can.
